Deeprootsinc.org is the digital presence of Deep Roots, Inc., located within the State of Maryland in the United States.
Our website is used to inform visitors about our programs, who we are, what we do, what we need, and our volunteer opportunities.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on our website we collect the data shown in the “Comments” form, as well as the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string for spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address, also called a hash, may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you have an active account with them. The Gravatar Privacy Policy is available here: automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is displayed, your profile picture is visible to the public with the contents of your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you do not have to re-submit your details when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to our site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Contact Forms
Personal Information that you enter in the embedded “Contact” form for subscribing to our quarterly Newsletter is directly submitted to MailChimp, a service we use to distribute our Newsletter via email. The information transferred to MailChimp is processed in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as it would if the visitor had accessed the website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. Your interaction may be traced by this website, if you have an account and are logged in.
Analytics

How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments, instead of holding them in a queue for approval.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their Profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for the ability to change their username). Website administrators can also see, and edit this information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of your personal data. You can also request that we erase any of your stored personal data. This does not include any data that we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
